Information on the cushion cut diamonds

In as far as diamonds are concerned there are lots of them in the market, all of which come in different shapes and sizes. Therefore when you want to purchase any of them you really have a lot to think about. The cushion cut diamonds are some of the most common diamond stones that you can purchase in the market today.

The reason for this is because they are associated with some of the perfect diamonds that have been passed around for ages. For close to 300 years now the cushion cut diamonds have graced the diamond markets and they have since been so popular among buyers for different reasons. There are those who appreciate the class in them that comes from the fact that they have been around for centuries and then there are also those who are thrilled with the fact that they can get to own some of the diamonds with quite a rich history in the world.

The diamonds get their name from the rounded shape that they have. They are naturally rounded and appear to be like cushions when you take a closer look at them. As a matter of fact in other spheres these are usually referred to as pillow cut diamonds and therefore you should not confuse the names should you come across them anywhere. In as far as the design of these diamonds is concerned they usually have large facets, actually very large to be precise and they also have rounded corners. Their natural brilliance is therefore made to stand out even more by some of these features, and in particular the clarity of the diamonds and the brilliance thereof.

When you compare this with some of the other diamonds in the market, this is one of the most popular especially when compared with the round brilliant cut diamond. The main reason for this is because back in the day people did not have the technology that we have today to make the brilliant round cut diamonds, and as a result the cushion cut diamonds were the most popular shape back then. They have since grown into that fame and the technology used is what has led to the popularity of the round cut diamonds.

If you take a closer look you will come to realize that these diamonds are pretty much made of rounded rectangles though the ratio of their length varies between 1.0 and 1.3
